In Florida the heat hardly leaves, so the best boxes here are built from the parts of the shop that were never going to melt.
A box for the heat
New Zealand has plenty of them. Start with a jar. Fix & Fogg is made in Wellington, and the smoke and fire version has a smoky, spicy edge. Add a packet of Hundreds and Thousands biscuits, a fixture of New Zealand birthday parties. Then fill the space with crisps and a bag of lollies.
North and south
Florida is really two climates for chocolate. Gainesville, Tallahassee and the rest of the north get a proper winter, and from December to February a Whittaker’s block has a fair chance.
From Orlando south, winter is warm enough that chocolate stays a risk. If you are in Naples, Palm Beach or Miami, the safest order is the biscuit tin, even at Christmas.
Storm season
Between June and November, keep an eye on the forecast before you order. A parcel held up by a storm spends that time in the heat. Once it has passed, order as usual.
Chocolate and the weather
Build the box around what heat and humidity cannot hurt.
Parcels travel unrefrigerated, and for most of the year a Florida doorstep is too hot for chocolate. Melted chocolate is not refunded. In North Florida, December to February is a fair window. Further south, treat chocolate as a gamble in any month.

What to send to Florida
Picked for this trip, not a bestseller list. One line on each says why it earns its place in the box.
Smoky peanut butter from Wellington. A sealed jar, so the weather is irrelevant.
Iced biscuits covered in sprinkles. A New Zealand birthday party classic.
Cheese Twisties. Light, bulky and indifferent to the heat.
Firm fruit jellies. Warm weather softens them a little, and that is all.
Ordered most often to the United States
Built from real orders sent anywhere in the United States, refreshed daily. No names, no numbers, just what leaves Auckland for the United States most often.
One rate covers the first 2 kg
Your DHL Express rate follows the weight of the box, not where in the United States it is going. A half full box costs the same to send as a full one, so the trick is filling it well. Above 2 kg a step rate applies per 0.5 kg, and the exact figure shows at checkout once you enter your address.
Import charges are set by the United States, not by us
They are the same everywhere in the United States, and they do not change because your address is in Florida. We never add them to your price and we do not try to predict them. The only reliable source is U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Can I order chocolate to Florida at all +
In North Florida, December to February is a reasonable window. In Central and South Florida it is a gamble in any month. Parcels travel unrefrigerated, so a block may arrive soft or melted, and melted chocolate is not refunded. Biscuits, lollies, crisps and spreads are the dependable choice.
What happens to deliveries during a hurricane +
Couriers pause routes when it is unsafe to drive, so a parcel can be held until roads reopen. Tracking shows where it is. If a storm is forecast for your area, the simplest thing is to wait and order once it has passed.
How do I keep biscuits crisp once they are open +
Humidity softens an open packet quickly. Fold the bag down tight and clip it, or tip the biscuits into an airtight tin. Sealed packets are unaffected until you open them.
