The toffee is the same. Both are honeycomb, made by stirring baking soda into hot syrup so it sets full of bubbles. Buffalo sponge candy is usually a chunk of it dipped in chocolate. New Zealand uses hokey pokey more widely, in ice cream, biscuits, fudge and chocolate blocks.

It is a risk between June and September. Parcels travel unrefrigerated, and a humid day in a lobby or on a stoop can soften a block. Melted chocolate is not refunded. If someone will collect it promptly the odds improve, but the cooler months are the safe choice.
